Video and Sounds works on Macbook Pro 13 Mid 2010 June 30, 2010 Antonio 28 out of 30 found this review helpful
Bought this worried that the audio would not work, and I can confirm that sound and video both works with this adapter. I am using the latest Macbook Pro 13 with Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz, the mid 2010, model MC374LL/A. Once connected, the macbook will auto detect your tv and will show both monitors. Just go to system preference, sound, output, and select your TV as the output for the sound. You will then have audio and video on your TV. You could also mirror the screen to the TV and assign the video output for the TV to 1080p, under system preference, displays.
Working great so far!

I bought this to hook a MacBook Pro to our 50" Plasma. I set the macBook up near TV, hooked the adapter to an HDMI cable, hooked up a bluetooth keyboard, and turned it on. Works great!!! From the couch you can basically see a high def 50" display!!!
I would recommend this product February 10, 2010 K. Manship 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I purchased this product because I wanted to connect my 13" MacBook Pro to my 61" Samsung DLP television. Previously, I had been using a Windows based laptop and a VGA cable and was never overly impressed with the video quality of such websites as Netflix and Hulu (I pretty much only use a laptop connected to the television for watching broadcasts). In light of the poor video quality, I wanted to upgrade to a digital connection.
Since the MacBook Pros have the mini-dv output, I toyed around with converting DVI to HDMI but didn't have a lot of luck with DVI/HDMI adapters and the price was typically high. When I found this adapter for right around $10, I committed with little hesitation. I was concerned the HDMI adapter was going to be cheap, but is actually well made and is in the same "style" as any other mini-dv adapters you can buy (VGA, DVI). I was happy to find the form factor matched that of my already purchased mini-dv adapter (DVI). Obviously this is personal preference.
The HDMI cable attaches firmly to the HDMI adapter and works great with my MacBook Pro. I have noticed an increase in overall quality while streaming internet TV over that of what I was getting via VGA (analog). It was incredibly simple to "hook-up" if you have ever used your mini-dv output port and the Mac OS took care of everything else. I did have to configure my display orientation so that when I moved the mouse to the right side of the screen, it would transfer to my television (which is on the right side of my MacBook Pro).
I would recommend this to anyone who is wanting to connect a MacBook Pro (with the mini-dv video output) to a device via HDMI.
Awsome June 22, 2010 Claudia Hirsemann (Lake Worth, FL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I stepped out on faith and bought this. I had read that only the latest MacBook Pro supports audio. I bought my computer I April 2010. It is the latest model as of right now. The audio and video both work great. I plugged it into the computer, and the HDMI cable, set my display to mirror, adjusted the audio to my TV brand and it worked great. The picture isn't as crisp as on the computer but I was able to read captions with NO PROBLEM! I bout this for about $6 and Apple is now selling it for about $30. Buy this one. Save $20.

I've tested this with my Macbook Pro Aluminium generetion 5,1 and my LG 37LF2500 LCD television, and it works perfectly. At first the picture seemed like it was zoomed in a few pixels, so I changed the screen settings on the tv from "16:9" to "just scan", which fixed it. The plug doesn't look exactly like the picture here, but that's no matter, because now I've got glorious 1080P going on :D
