wireless keeps dropping out August 27, 2008 I read other reviews about wireless connection drops but decided to buy this one for several reasons. First it was on sale at best buy, second it was dual band with wireless N and some peole had rated it good and lastly I've had other linksys routers and they worked fine.
I wish I had listened to the bad reviews. After purchasing I updated the firmware from linksys with no problems. I was able to connect wirelssly with just an occassional connection drop for about a week and then the connections starting dropping on both the 2.4 and 5 ghz frequencies all the time. I though that maybe it was my ISP Comcast but I tested my connection by plugging directly into my cable which is a linksys modem and had no problems with dropped connections. I have since return the router and would not recommend it.
No problem here ... August 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unlike others, my WRT610N experience has been a good one ... thanks to my ISP's (Earthlink) support team, who guided me through the troublesome installation with my two Mac laptops, one old, one brand new, and the different operating systems I'm using with them and the quirks between those and Linksys. Suffice to say, lots of work involved manually typing in router addresses, etc., and running lots of tests, but I got everything up and running in an evening. Oh yeah, the router -- combined with my new Apple Airport Express -- gives me really excellent connection speed when I'm running wireless.
Amazing but very hard to operate (no MAC support from Lynksys) August 24, 2008 Hey guys,
The product is great. It's working very well. Increase the speed of my cable net 3 times. But to connect an external hard disk on the usb port was really hard. I have a mac. After days of research on the net i find out that it has to be formatted as fat 32 an that's why i couldn't mounted before. Now, I have no idea how to access the hd from my work using the ftp server throw the internet. The user guide available on the linksys web site is confused and totally incomplete. Maybe in a mouth I'll be able to use all the functions of this amazing product.

Not worth the trouble August 21, 2008 I purchased this to replace a 5 yr old Linksys router after upgrading to a new Verizon DSL modem. Let's just say the wireless part of this router works great, but I could never get it to work with the new modem or the old modem. I called support for both Linksys and Verizon an got the "it's not our problem, call the other vendor" after spending hours with each support desk. My only good experience with this router is when I returned it to Best Buy.
Router did not work for N-Wireless August 21, 2008 The N Band on either 2.4 or 5Ghz did not work with my Linksys DMA2200. The a/b/g wireless worked great on my laptop. However, I bought this router to do N only so I had to send it back. I would wait until they fix the issues with Wireless-N.
